 "Why do I use yellow? For one thing I feel the canvas expands – there is somehow more light and atmosphere, at least for me now, in the use of yellow. I'm concerned with space – atmosphere and light – but to capture these phenomena and transform them into a work of art is a strange process. It could be magic, faith or almost anything you want to call it. I have the canvas before me and I consciously choose the primary colors – red, yellow, blue. After hours, days or weeks, the painting becomes essentially yellow."
